Tammy Blanchard to Star in “Amish Grace”
Monday, November 30th, 2009Filming begins tomorrow in L.A. on a movie based on the tragic events that occurred at an Amish Schoolhouse in October of 2006. Kimberly Williams-Paisley will star in “Amish Grace,” a made-for-television film about the aftermath of the brutal crime that happened in Nickels Mine, PA, when a gunman walked into the schoolhouse and killed five young girls and then took his own life. The story received attention not only for the gruesome crime, but also for how quickly the leaders of the Amish community offered unconditional forgiveness to the shooter and his widow. Williams-Paisley will play the mother of one of the shooters victims and Tammy Blanchard is set to star as the widow of the shooter. The film is set to air in 2010 on Lifetime Movie Network. It will be based on accounts of the event and the book “Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy” by Donald Kraybill, Steven Nolt and David Weaver-Zercher.
